Les amours imaginaires

昨日はしおりと映画を観に行った。
渋谷にあるアップリンクというミニシアターへ。

ちょうど一週間前の6月20日から
「DOLAN　ANYWAYS」
と題してグザヴィエ・ドランの過去作品が一挙に上映されているのです。
Fashion Pressのツイートで知って、観たいな～と思っていたら
タイミングよくしおりに誘ってもらったという奇跡。

過去の監督作すべてが上映されているんだけど
「胸騒ぎの恋人」を観ました。
上の画像でいうと左下のやつ。
仲良しの男女の友達二人が同じ美青年に一目惚れして恋するストーリーなんだけど、
ちょうどその日の昼間にLGBTとかジェンダーについて話してたから
なんかタイムリーだねってしおりと話してた。

Yesterday, I went to see a movie with my friend, Shiori.
It was my first time to go to UPLINK theater in Shibuya.
The special screening "DOLAN ANYWAYS" is now held and you can see all movies made by Xavier Dolan, so we went there and decided to see "Les amours imaginaires" (English title: Heartbeats)

The story is that both two close friends, gay man and straight woman, fall in love with one beautiful man at the same time. We had talked about LGBT or gender issues before going to see it by chance so that it seemed to be very timely to meet such a movie in a same day.

映画の感想の前に、まずアップリンクっていう映画館にとても感動した。
私の映画館というものの既成概念がぶっ壊されたね(笑)
いわゆるミニシアターは高崎のシネマテークとか、シネマライズで体験したことがあるけど
アップリンクはそれとは完全に別物だった。
詳しくは知らないけど、映画を上映するために建てられたビルではないと思うし、
スクリーンこそあれど椅子とかも普通の生活で使われるようなものだった。(座り心地はいい)

でも、上映されている作品、これから上映される作品、ここでは上映されないけれど同じようなミニシアターで上映される作品などなど凄く沢山のフライヤーが置いてあったし、上映作品に関する展示が狭い空間にとても素敵に作り上げられていて、心を感じた映画館だった。

Please, let me talk about the theater before telling my impression of the movie.
UPLINK was completely different from any other theaters I've ever been to and I was very shocked.
So-called "mini theater" like cinematheque in Takasaki or CINEMA RISE in Shibuya, they are very good place because buildings are designed for screening and seeing movies. BUT, the building UPLINK is in was probably not a place for movie. It was just one floor of the building and other floors are used as offices of some companies. Chairs were also usual ones, nothing special for seeing movies. (but it was very comfortable so sometimes it made me sleepy during seeing in the dark)

There were tons of movies' flyers which is now screening, coming soon, and other theater's movies. A small exhibition of Xavier Dolan was awesome. Dolan's instagram photos are used and they are on the wall.


それで、映画の感想ね。
想像以上に「面白い！」と感じることができた。
ドラン作品てどれもテーマが重いから、これもそうなんだろうなと思ってた。
ところがどっこい。これはそんなに重くない。
ドランが演じているゲイの青年の存在がこの映画が普通の恋愛映画とは違う点。
でもね、そういう人もいるけどね、みんな同じように恋に落ちて、恋に苦しめられて、
恋に破れて、また恋に落ちるんだよ。みんな同じなんだよ。
てなことをこの映画で伝えたいのかな。
十人十色の感想と意見がある中で、私はこう思いましたとさ。

あと全然重さを感じなかった理由のひとつは「色」だ。
色が綺麗だった。衣装の色とか背景の色とか。

It's time to tell about my impression.
The movie was more fun and better than I expected.
As themes or characters' backgrounds are deep and serious in all his movies, I expected it was serious movie, too. However, it wasn't so hard for me to see it.
There was only one thing which is different from any other ordinary love stories: one of main characters is a gay. I think Dolan just wants people to know that a gay loves someone like a man loves a woman and a woman loves a man and we all are same when we fall in love with someone, such as feeling jealousy of rivals and doing something that can attracts your love.
 
And, I have to mention about his use of colors!
This might be one big reason that the movie wasn't very serious.
Every scene was beautiful. I liked colors of each costume and background.


素敵な映画館で素敵な映画を観る事ができて幸せを噛み締めたFriday Chillingでしたとさ。
